For almost 20 years I have suffered with severe headaches. I also had jaw, neck, and shoulder pain. When my jaw kept popping and hurting constantly I looked for a dentist and found Dr. Mohler. I was also looking into redoing some work that another dentist had done. After telling him about my pain, he told me I had TMD/TMJ and we decided to solve this problem first to avoid my jaw from deteriorating over time. After so, even within the first couple weeks, my headaches reduced immensely! My jaw, shoulder and neck pain did as well. The headaches I would have on an almost daily base are gone. It has been wonderful. My gums also used to bleed when I would brush and floss and since he has done work they are back to perfect health and the color is pink, not red and inflamed. They don't bleed during brushing and flossing anymore. It has made a vast difference in my life to have days where I am not in pain!

I used to think it was by chance or just lucky than through a very dear friend, I got to meet the man that would give me back ten years or even more, not only in my appearance but in health by having a total dental make over, but now it leaves me wondering if this was not such a co-incidence but planned for me all along, after I prayed many years that if I could just have one thing done, it would have to be beautiful teeth and a wonderful smile. That is how Dr. Chris Mohler came into my life,
I always wished that as a child growing up I would have taken better care of my teeth, but before I knew it I was grown up and forever having fillings, extractions, crowns, patchwork dentistry, and more leaving me with a mouth full of that that were uneven, fillings, that were visible, worn down through age and may different colors. Going to different dentists all along the way did not help matters, after all in those days there was no such thing as cosmetic dentistry, we just went to the dentist and had it fixed. We did not look into his training, after all a dentist is a dentist is a dentist. I found out how untrue that statement really is. Dentists are trained at many different levels.
Than along came the age to tooth whitening and great looking teeth, only my teeth were awful and unable to be whitened because of all my fillings and crowns. I needed a miracle and there was only one person that was going to give me this, the total transformation and the beautiful smile I so longed for –Dr. Chris Mohler.
Dr. Mohler set to work after several visits you can see for yourself the extreme transformation. To this day, more than two years later I still look in the mirror and cannot believe that is my very own magnificent healthy, white smile looking back at me. I am ever so grateful to you Dr. Mohler.

It was supposed to be “routine”.
About a year and a half ago, I went to Dr. Mohler’s office for a “routine” 6 month visit. During the cleaning, Jane, the hygienist, seemed unusually quick, and a bit upset. I hoped she didn’t have a problem of some sort. But I did notice that she had poked around at one spot more than the others. Dr. Mohler came in immediately when she finished, and went right to that same spot. My first thought was that perhaps I hadn’t been flossing properly. Dr. Mohler explained that there was a spot on my gum, hopefully nothing to worry about, but that it should be biopsied by an oral surgeon. Before I left the office, he insisted on setting up the appointment up for me for a few days later. His job wasn’t done. He followed up repeatedly with the laboratory to expedite the results. Unfortunately they were positive for a mucosal melanoma. Still not finished, he set me up with a local ENT doctor on an emergency basis, who took a good look, and decided it would require a type of surgery he did not perform. He then sat me in his office, much as Dr. Mohler did, not allowing me to leave until arrangements were made at MUSC in Charleston for me to see a surgeon who specialized in that particular type of surgery.
At my examination there, it was explained to me that this was a particularly “violent” form of cancer, and that without the early diagnosis, my life expectancy would have been expressed in terms of months. My surgery took place a couple of weeks later, and I am now well beyond that “couple of months” period. Throughout the process, and the recovery, Dr. Mohler has stayed very much involved.
I don’t know if in their career choice, Dr. Mohler or Jane thought they would be lifesavers, but in my case, they truly were.

I had problems with jaw alignment all my adult life. In 1993 I had surgery on the left TMJ repositioning a damaged disc. Through all these years I suffered from headaches and pain though the lower jaw muscles. I never felt my teeth fit together properly and without realizing it I was continually hunting for a comfortable position to put my teeth against one another, further contributing to discomfort, especially by the end of each day. I was facing the prospect of jaw surgery once again.
To make matters worse, my teeth were not especially pleasing to look at, somewhat yellowed and certainly chipped and worn from age and damage in sports through the years. I had a front cap needing replacement and a set of old laminates on my uppers that were beyond needing replacement. I had to do something.
I told my story to Dr. Christopher Mohler. He listened to my needs and concerns. He had a solution that would solve all my problems, and the expertise to perform it.
The Mohler DDS team went to work on me as soon as I walked in the door of their beautiful facility. They planned a design to rebuild and restore my teeth which was implemented quickly and efficiently using porcelain restorations. Dr. Mohler even consulted my old dental surgeon prior to going to work on me. I felt as if I was a part of the team and knew and understood every step of the way. I was amazed at what was accomplished in only two weeks. I found the entire experience uplifting and while it sounds impossible to say you had fun at the dentist; I enjoyed the whole process and certainly my visits. Why had I waited so long?
Headaches? Gone! AND, a huge bonus; my teeth were transformed into a straight, brilliantly white set of choppers that I am confident to display in a smile anytime. I feel great about how I look and my concerns about my jaw and dental health left with the headaches.
Thanks, Doc, to you and the entire team!

When I first visited Dr. Mohler, in Spring, 2007, I was worried because my teeth were seemingly “falling apart” and, over the prior three years, I found myself having more and more problems. These included fillings falling out, new cavities forming and teeth literally cracking and breaking. I took good care of my teeth and could not figure out what was happening.
A friend, who knew my story, suggested that my problems may be related to the numerous back surgeries I had had over the years, and the impacts that the medication, and related side-effects have, on dental health. She had a similar problem and got me in touch with Dr. Mohler.
Upon my first visit I realized a few things. First, my teeth were in bad shape and needed attention quickly. Second, there was no doubt that Dr. Mohler was the person I wanted to do that work. He immediately put me at ease, took all the time I needed him to, and was very honest and straightforward with me. He never talked “over my head” and, most importantly, I could tell that he truly cared. He wanted to help me. He understood that I was no longer comfortable smiling in pictures, and that my condition was impacting me in numerous ways and he wanted to “make me smile again”!
Once I decided to go forward, with a complete mouth restoration, we scheduled the necessary visits, and when my schedule was “difficult” he even came in and spent an ENTIRE Saturday in the office working on me. Since some of the visits were to take a few hours, he had a satellite radio with headphones for me, and ALWAYS brought in a special cushion, designed for people with bad backs, like me. And each visit proved to be easy, seemed to go by quickly and the pain was always minimal.
When we finished with the final visit, and ALL my new teeth were in place I could not believe it! It took me a few weeks to get used to the idea that I COULD smile again, and not have to hide my teeth. My mouth looks AMAZING, and since Dr. Mohler stands by his work, I have no worries about the future, because I know that I have a dentist who is there for me and always will be!
Looking back on it all, there are two things that stand out the most to me. First is the absolutely wonderful work that Dr. Mohler does – Nobody has a better looking mouth than I have now! Second is the level of care I received from Dr. Mohler. He understands, he listens and above all else he cares and goes out of his way for his patients. I have never seen a doctor or dentist have the level of concern and awareness for his patients that Dr. Mohler does.
The entire experience has been second-to-none.
