Deb Waylan
Deb is single mother that has suffered with severe migraines for over 6 years. Even with medications, she had 2-3 migraines a month, some severe enough to end up in hospital. Other symptoms were jaw locking, neck pain, ear pain, ear stuffiness and tinnitus. Deb had seen neurologists, her dentist, orthodontist and chiropractors without relief. Her detailed story is at http://www.midwestheadaches.com/successstories.detail.asp?id=24 After a thorough workup, she was fitted with a Neuromuscular fixed orthotic which resulted in 80% symptom relief. Then orthodontic appliances including braces were used to improve the arches while maintaining the bite relation. The case was finished with full mouth bonded Empress restorations in 2006 to maintain the proven bite relation. Deb remains completely pain free and looks 20 years younger with a beautiful smile.
Steve Austin
Steve was only 19 when he sought our help. His lower front teeth fit forward of his upper front teeth (skeletal Class 3). It hurt his jaw joints to even eat and was deteriorating even at that young age. He wanted to avoid jaw surgery. All of his options, including "no treatment" was discussed. NMD was his and his mother's choice. Through Neuromuscular orthopedic (Pull forward face mask) his Maxilla was brought forward. NM full mouth reconstruction was completed. This addressed his TMJ health and tongue space / airway problems as well. A beautiful smile was only a bonus!
Matt Buie-Nervik
Matt in in his 20's and works on a cruise ship in Europe. His home is from Eastern Missouri area. His bite relation was such that his lower front teeth completely overlapped in front of his upper front teeth (Skeletal Class 3 - Anterior cross bite). Matt's TM joints were hurting even at his young age due to the severe mal-alignment of his jaws. With his cruise ship job, jaw surgery was not feasible and he wanted to avoid surgery, if at all possible. We discussed all options and he chose the NMD correction. Due to his cruise schedule he wore a NM removable orthotic for over 2 years until he had time to get it finished. We were able to correct his bite relation with NM Full Mouth rejuvenation AND WITHOUT JAW SURGERY! He wrote in an e-mail: I get lots of comments on how nice my teeth are. Whenever people take pictures of me I joke with them that they will need to turn the flash off because it will reflect off my teeth and mess up the picture. It always gets a good laugh. : ). Several people said I should be on a tooth paste commercial : ) People can’t believe that these teeth aren’t my natural teeth, which is cool as well.
Paula S
Paula has suffered with TM joint symptoms including pain, clicking and headaches for 2o years. Her dentist for the last 10 years was a well known doctor who is a Lead Faculty and on the Board of Directors of LD Pankey Institute. I am sure he is a very good dentist. But whenever Paula would ask him about her clicking and sore TM joints, he would just shrug his shoulders and walk away. It was evident to Paula that he had no solutions. Paula's husband heard about us and wanted her to consult. We were able to reduce her clicking joints, relieve her head aches and give her a great smile to boot! I only mentioned the previous dentist's background to point out that even a highly skilled Pankey trained dentist was unable to solve Paula's problems due to the Centric Relation philosophy. Neuromuscular protocols, on the other hand, readily solved these problems.
