The objective of the LVIM program is to recognize those individuals who can provide a high level of comprehensive aesthetic neuromuscular diagnosis and treatment. It also recognizes their efforts to promote the advancement of neuromuscular dentistry.
As the number of LVI graduates treating musculoskeletal dysfunction of the head and neck increases, LVI has recognized the need to implement an accreditation process to assess competency, ensure continuing education knowledge, and maintain a high standard of care among those treating their patients with neuromuscular dentistry principles.
The LVI Accreditation Program allows the dentists to have a “Mastership of Aesthetics and Neuromuscular Dentistry” distinction among their colleagues. A written examination, along with an oral examination and submission of 3 Cases of Full Mouth Rehabilitation are requirements for the LVI Mastership. This Mastership ensures the dentists understanding of principles of full mouth rehabilitation and these skills have been verified by this grueling examination process approved by their peers.
The Mastership in the International College of Cranio Mandibular Orthopedics is the highest level of training and achievement in the ICCMO organization for treatment of TMJ. One must first become a Fellow of ICCMO, and then can proceed toward the Mastership process. A Mastership written examination is the first step to be passed, and then a thesis is presented to the board on treatment of TMD, once passed, then an oral examination will be the last step on passing and achieving the Mastership in this organization. What this means to you is that This dentist has the highest level of dedication and training in field of TMJ therapy and computerized mandibular scan measurements, as a result you will be receiving the best care possible in the field of TMJ therapy.
