There are 3 parts to becoming accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. This is one of the most prestigeous accomplishments by a Cosmetic Dentist. Dentists have to first pass a vigorous written examination, then submit several cosmetic cases to the academy to be reviewed by their peers, and then finally an oral examination. Then after accrediation, for Fellowship, one must submit 50 Cosmetic Cases, all done on different patients, and have attended 3 scientific sessions out of the last 5 years. This means that the dentists who have achieved the Fellowship status have been tested by their peers and have proven themselves worthy of being called Cosmetic Dentist. What this means to you is that you will be treated by someone who has great experience and you could feel comfortable that you are in great hands. This is the highest level in the AACD process. THERE ARE ONLY 41 DENTISTS IN THE WORLD WHO HAVE RECEIVED SUCH DISTINCTION.
