These dentists have listed 20 completed implant cases of minimum 12 months old, fully documented 5 of these cases, 75 hours of continuing education in the field of Implant Dentistry, and a letter of recommendation from a current ICOI Fellow or Diplomate. These dentists have a great understanding of Implant dentistry and great training.
This is level 3 of 4 level credentialing process in this organization. Be a AFAAID, been practicing implant dentistry for at least 5 years, 100 additional hours of implant continuing education, attendance at the AAID meetings, submission of 50 implant cases or arches, 10 cases to be discussed in depth with examiners, and 5 of the cases to be in function for at least 5 years. . This means you are receiving care from a dentist who is thorough, and is very dedicated to the field of implant dentistry. Knowledge and Experience are both on this dentist’s side.
A Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.To be educationally qualified for Board certification requires:
• Certification as a dentist, including basic college education and completion of dental school to earn the D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree and;
• Certification as a periodontist after postdoctoral study in an ADA approved program. This period of study is concentrated on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of periodontal disease.
In addition to the educational requirements, Board certification requires:
• Comprehensive written and oral examinations covering all phases of periodontal disease and its treatment, including dental implants.
• Presentation of detailed reports on a broad range of actual treatment personally provided by the periodontist.
• Recertification every three years.
A Diplomate is a dentist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain. To be educationally qualified for Board certification requires:
1. Certification as a dentist, including basic college education and completion of dental school to earn the D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree.
2. Attainment of at least 400 hours of continuing education in subjects related to orofacial pain and having practiced orofacial pain for at least 2 years. Alternately, individuals who have completed at least one year of a full time university residency program or hospital based program in orofacial pain.
3. Comprehensive oral and written examinations covering all phases of orofacial pain. THESE DENTISTS HAVE SHOWN EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE IN TREATMENT OF TMD AND TMJ.
