You are viewing a full upper arch of dental implants that are supporting a modern day fixed implant bridge. Healthy, long lasting, low future maintenance cost, and Beautiful! She can eat what ever she wants! Jackie is a very detailed person who lives in Chicago. She went to several other dentists before Dr. Landers. This case involves replacement of missing laterals (two top teeth on both sides of centrals) with a unique dental implant (Nobel Direct) routinely placed by Chicago’s implantologist, and Accredited Fellow Cosmetic dentist Dr. Kevin Landers. Very few dentists place the Nobel Direct Dental Implant because it usually requires two dental specialists to place and shape at the time of surgery. Since Dr. Landers is one of the few dentists that place and restores dental implants, his patients benefit from this one piece dental implant. In fact, Dr. Landers is likely the world's first dentist to place the Nobel Direct dental implant at Accrediatation standards (Cosmetic Standards set by the American Acadeny of Cosmetice Dentistry). For these types of dental implant/implant post interface, because the Nobel Direct is the implant root and post portion as one solid piece, there is no micro movement between the implant and the implant post; and no screw to loosen or break. Finally, in tight situations, the dental implant post can be adjusted to make room for the opposing tooth. While the details of such a service are difficult for a non-surgeon to fully understand, the proof is in the application and final results . Treatment: Gum lift & eight Direct Resin Veneers. Direct Resin Veneers are dental bondings that are shaped by Dr. Kevin Landers and not the lab fabricated porcelain veneers. The dental bondings you see here were layered, shaped, and polished in the patient's mouth by Dr. Landers. Dr. Landers has completed and presented several of these cases to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD ) for accreditation review and has passed the process to reach Accredited Fellow Cosmetic Dentist. This is the highest level of accreditation at the AACD with fewere than 50 dentist at this standard worldwide. These cases are usually very time consuming for the doctor as well as the patient, and thus are usually used for training purposes. Dr. Landers will start all cases whether for dental implants, cosmetic porcelain veneers, or a full mouth reconstruction by leveling the gums and bone, aligning the teeth, and then add bonding to each and every tooth so that the final shape can be viewed and approved by the patient. All of this is done prior to the final restoration being sent to the lab, in other words Dr. Landers patients get to see the general shape of their teeth before the final restorations are completed. The most common practice for other dentists will be to write a lab slip to a dental lab, asking them to make the teeth out of wax and then transfer it to the patient's mouth. Dr. Landers makes the teeth with the patient's unique anatomical maxillary arch form, gums, lips, and face and then gets the patient's approval before proceeding with the final restorations. This technique is quite difficult to learn, but ultimately the patient benefits from a predictable beautiful smile. "If you are thinking about having any type of cosmetic dentistry done, RUN don't walk to Dr. Lander's office! I had a horrible, spacey, gummy smile for years and knew that as soon as I had the finances, I was going to get a smile makeover. I went to see a couple other cosmetic dentists for their opinions and estimates on gum contouring, veneers and whitening. Dr. Lander was by far the best dentist for the job. Treatment: Level and align the patient's bite (invisalign clear tray tooth aligners) in order to relieve the traumatic occlusion between the lower tooth on the back side of the patients right central. This tooth to tooth collision was driving the upper tooth forward and as a result it caused the gum and bone loss which is evident on the before picture as recession over the patients right central. Micro surgical (minimally invasive, more comfortable for the patient, and heals quickly & predictably) placement of a gum graft and eight Porcelain Veneers were completed. Dr. Landers is a perfectionist and does virtually all of his own surgical procedures allowing him to control the perfect results, he has performed gum surgeries for more than 20 years. Dr. Landers asked us to show this case with a close up view to demonstrate the details of healthy and natural appearing beautiful porcelain veneers. The final results are always about health but each patient decides on their own color and whether or not they want a "Hollywood" smile or a more natural looking smile. Look at all of the before and after photos and notice that none of the results look the same. This is because with Dr. Landers, each patient receives a unique shape based on their gums, lips, and face. This is predictably accomplished with a cosmetic "mock up" where the teeth are shaped in each person's mouth and shown to the patient for approval before the final restorations are started.

You are viewing two cases where patients presented for Dental Implants but ultimately chose a bridge as an alternate treatment. The reason each of these patients chose a bridge is because their roots were convergent leaving no space for the bone. Both of them were offered the treatment option of dental implants after space was created by wearing metal braces for 1-2 years. The option of a bridge is sometimes a service that is requested. The above two examples of bridge work have been done with the optimum cosmetic result for the patient. Treatment included: Micro surgical gum graft, gum graft above the missing tooth, and ovate formation of the tissue in the space of the missing tooth. This procedure was done to ensure that when the crown is seated it appears as though it is coming out of the gum tissue: thus giving the patient a more natural appearance. This is one of many specialized cosmetic procedures which Dr. Landers routinely performs for patient.
