Patient 1

The patient said he "had a fang". His gingival asymmetry and lack of any attached gingiva necessitated gingival regeneration. A connective tissue graft achieves root coverage, new attachment with a 2mm sulcus, good cosmetic blending and a wide band of attached gingiva.

Patient 2

Root decay and recession created sensitivity, no attached gingiva and a cosmetic defect. All root decay is removed; the root was smoothed and treated with acid and a connective tissue graft was placed. Minimal sulcus depth with new attachment, a wide band of attached gingiva and a good cosmetic blending was achieved. Now no restoration is needed.

Patient 3

A 21-year old male presents with a 12 mm pocket and bone loss approaching the root end. Many times in the past a tooth like this would be extracted! Bone grafting of the defect by Dr. Nordland has corrected the problem and will extend the life expectancy of the tooth indefinitely.

Patient 4

Multiple areas of recession made the patient self-conscious and did not smile as a result. A connective tissue graft brought back enough gum tissue so that orthodontic straightening and crowns could recreate a proud smile.
