This participation course will describe treatment for the soft tissue dilemmas that the general dentist faces on a daily basis. These include gum recession, exposed crown margins where the black line at the gumline appear, biologic width impingements (redness around the gums of crowns), uneven gingival margins (gumlines appearing in different levels giving the teeth an unesthetic look), and the gummy smile. Step by step procedures for treatment of these conditions will be described in detail. This course will emphasize the skills necessary to do gum grafting and esthetic crown lengthening to get rid of gummy smiles.
