There are 2 portions to the examination, a written and a rotation through the implant case stations. To qualify to take the examination, either one has to be a graduate of an accredited Oral implantology program (a 3 year program), be practicing Implant dentistry for at least 5 years, along 10 cases to be submitted to the board, or a graduate of an accredited Oral implantology program (a 3 year program), have completed 2 of the 3 years and is recommended by the Dean of the program, or Be at least be practicing in the field of implant dentistry for 2 years, along with 4 cases to be submitted to the board.
