Joseph R. Nemeth, D.D.S., MACSD, is a specialist in the field of periodontics and has served patients in Southeastern Michigan for over 25 years. Following graduation from the University of Michigan Dental School, he served in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of captain. He then completed two years of graduate study in periodontics at New York University.
Dr. Nemeth established his first practice in California where he also taught periodontics at the UCLA Dental School and was Chairman of Periodontics at Cedars Sinai Hospital. Missing his home state, Dr. Nemeth returned to Michigan and opened his current practice in Southfield.
As one of the area’s foremost experts in periodontics, Dr. Nemeth has played a major role in applying innovative medical and technological advances to current periodontal practice. He publishes a quarterly newsletter and sponsors frequent continuing education seminars for general dentists here in Michigan. Dr. Nemeth has served on the faculty of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and on the staff of the Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Nemeth is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the North American Society of Periodontists. He is also a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and has achieved the level of Master in the College of Sedation in Dentistry (MACSD).
Dr. Nemeth has served as editor of the Oakland County Dental Journal and has published several articles and given many lectures on new procedures in periodontics and dental implants. He is committed to excellence and dedicated to helping patients enjoy long-term success in their dental comfort, appearance and function.
He has been among HOUR Detroit Magazine’s Top Dentists for three consecutive years since the feature was initiated in 2008.
