Direct Resin Veneers
When working with a recovering Meth user the dentist must get creative. Direct composite resin veneers were individually done by hand. The shape, shade, characteristics, function and esthetics were created directly in the mouth entirely by the hand of Dr. Ted Murray. This method was chosen over a laboratory processed porcelain veneer because composite resin can be repaired and refreshed as needed should the need arise. With porcelain you would need to start all over.
Porcelain Veneers
In cases where there is already failed veneers or the teeth have decay or large unserviceable restorations it is necessary to replace the old veneers with new porcelain veneers.
Worn teeth and large spaces
When the teeth become badly worn and the patient has other concerns such as the spaces between the teeth or the teeth are too small it becomes necessary to utilize porcelain veneers and crowns.
Severe Crowding and Severe Wear
This very nice lady presented to the office with obvious concerns. She was widowed a few years earlier and thought it was time to get back out there and meet a nice man. She felt it might be to her advantage to improve her smile first. Again we selected to do porcelain veneers for this very difficult case. It must have worked because she is now engaged.
Space Closure with Bonding
Some people like the spaces between their teeth. Others would rather they didn't have them and want a non-invasive way to fix it. For this young lady we did Direct Composite Resin Bonding, careful to be sure of a good match and that the teeth were the same size and the composite emerged from the gingiva in a natural and harmonious emergence profile.
Broken Front Teeth
Every mother's nightmare. Your 9 year old son comes home from the baseball game with his brand new upper central incisors broken off. She was crying and beside herself sure that the teeth would need crowns. After examining her son we discussed Direct Resin Bonding using a color layering technique with internal characteristics between the layers for a very natural appearance. This was achieved without removing any additional tooth structure. Mother and son were very happy with the result.
Didn't like her smile
This very nice unmarried (at the time) lady came in to see what could be done to give her a beautiful smile. She'd had some bonding done by another dentist but felt that while he'd done his best he just didn't achieve what she expected. Together we decided on a course of treatment and selected porcelain veneers. Since then she has met and married the man of her dreams. We are seeing as lot of that with our single women patients.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
Sometimes when the old dentistry cannot be patched anymore and the teeth have worn so badly the patient is just plain uncomfortable and cannot find her stable bite position it becomes necessary to redo everything. Not to do so can result in accelerated tooth loss and continuation of jaw pain and headaches.
Tooth Colored Onlays
When the back teeth start to break.....or better yet before the back teeth start to break....more and more people are asking for tooth colored, minimally invasive onlays. Today's informed dental patient is becoming more proactive and less reactive to the needs of their mouth. They want to avoid crowns until later in life or until there is no other option. They want to preserve as much of their original tooth structure as long as possible by choosing onlays.
Implant Dentistry
This woman came to us from a nearby town because of my association with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She used to be a dental assistant and did her research very carefully. She knew her tooth was abscessed so badly she was going to lose it but she wanted the treatment to replace it to be better than what she started with. She also had a bad veneer on the other tooth. The treatment consisted of an implant and crown where the abscessed tooth was and a new veneer on the tooth next to it. And she wanted it to match EXACTLY!
