Meet the Dentist

Dr. Ted Murray is the only dentist in Eastern Iowa who is Accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. To add to this prestigious distinction he is also an AACD Accreditation Examiner testing, evaluating and mentoring dentists aspiring to someday become accredited themselves. As a native of Dubuque, Iowa Dr. Murray has been in private practice for more than 30 years. Following graduation for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1977, he went on to complete a dental residency at the Iowa City Veterans Hospital. Deciding early in his career that continuing education was vital to the evolution of a dentist’s professional and clinical skills he sought out the best training institutes and programs. To this end he received the Academy of General Dentistry’s Fellowship in 1983 and the AGD’s Mastership in 1995. In 2007 upon publication of his article in the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry he finished the final requirement needed to earn a Certificate in Esthetic and Contemporary Restorative Dentistry from the U. of Minnesota. Dr. Murray has completed all the core courses at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and has served at LVI as a clinical instructor for the last 5 years. In 2005 his daughter Dr. Kristen Berning joined the practice and brought to us the concept of Family Treating Families.
